Throughout the year we provide a wealth of sporting, cultural and social activities that enhance our students’ experience.

Our clubs and activities programme has expanded significantly in recent years and we are confident that there is something for everyone in the diverse range of opportunities we offer.

Our enrichment programme enables students to aim high, create and succeed and take pride. We encourage all our students to participate in a range of activities during their time with us.

We run a successful Duke of Edinburgh Award at Thomas Alleyne’s and we had students complete their bronze and silver awards in 2018-19. Our sports teams have achieved huge success in recent years, with several district and county winning performances across a range of sports.

We run a karting club with parents volunteering to support the Thomas Alleyne drivers. One of our students became national champion in their racing class, with other drivers securing victories throughout the season.
Each year our music and drama departments have run a number of successful school productions; last year saw a fantastic performance of ‘School of Rock’ with students from all year groups participating.

We also run a huge range of trips and visits, including residential visits to France, Holland, Italy and UK destinations, and a wealth of day trips and visiting speakers. We are planning a ski trip to Italy in 2020 and a geography trip to Iceland in 2021.

Every year we provide every member of our community with a book we all read together through our ‘Alleyne’s Readers’ project. Last year saw a diverse range of activities based around the themes in our chosen book, ‘Time Travelling with a Hamster’ by Ross Welford, including a visit from the author himself. In September 2019 our Year 7 read ‘Beowulf’ by Michael Morpurgo and enjoyed planning some activities in the forms linked to the themes of the book.

We maintain our historic links with Cambridge University and use these to inspire our most academically able students.

Watch this space for the broad range of exciting activities currently offered to our students.
