Key Information for Year 6 Students Starting in 2026

Welcome to the Thomas Alleyne Academy

We are excited that you have chosen Thomas Alleyne and are looking forward to welcoming a new set of students into Year 7 in September 2026. From now until the end of this academic year we will be providing you with lots of opportunities to find out more about the school and explain what you can be doing to prepare for the next big step to secondary school.

The first day of term for new year 7 students is Thursday, 3rd September 2026.

Accept your Place

If you have been offered a place at TAA in September, please make sure that you accept your place.

Complete the Pre-Admission Form

Once you have accepted the place please complete our pre-admission online form.

Transition Primary School Visits

In the summer term, the transition team will be visiting our feeder schools to introduce themselves and meet year 6 students joining Thomas Alleyne.

Individual Meetings

Each year 6 family will have the opportunity to meet with a member of our staff team. These meetings should be in person, or can be arranged online if required. At the meeting we will take in relevant paperwork and answer any questions you may have about year 7. Students with identified special educational needs may have extra meetings and school visits arranged by our SENDCo.

Year 7 Transition Evening on Monday, 6th July 2026 (5-6pm) 

We will be running an event for our new Year 7 students and their parents to provide you with important information about starting at our academy. We will invite you to attend a talk from the Head Teacher, Head of Year 7 and current Year 7 students. There will also be information available about support at Thomas Alleyne, the enrichment opportunities on offer from September, and an opportunity to see some art work that Year 7 students have completed this year. To allow families to be seated comfortably in the Main Hall, we will present the information in two sittings and have allocated time slots according to your child’s surname: 

·         5.00p.m. students and their families with surname beginning A-L

·         6.00p.m. students and their families with surname beginning M-Z
